Week 9
-We have begun our new unit entitled 'Let's Celebrate'.
The transdisciplinary theme is 'Who we are'
The central idea is 'Our traditions and beliefs are part of who we are'
-It's a wonderful unit that lends itself to inquiry and being open-minded.

- We celebrated the beginning of Diwali by making rangoli and cleaning our classroom -as is done in indian homes.
-We are now reading about Mahatma Gandhi's life. This is 'learning for life' and the children are truly interested.....

-Last Friday Ms Jackie wore a poppy on her shirt.....I had just returned from London where they were selling them ......we were studying symbols....Friday at 11:00 o'clock Ms Ottavia played the Last Post on her trumpet...and so Remembrance Day came alive in grade two
-the list goes on...........
-Aden shared that he received 2 presents on Eid. Why?
-Min Woo and Federico measured, cut and divided in even squares the first page of ourgigantic Multicultural Calendar which will be hung in the atrium
-4 truths and a lie to be detected by your partner
-reviewing long vowel spellings by making mobiles
deciding who will be in charge of which words
how long should the ribbons be?
who will measure?
who will cut?
can you see the words?
-we made group Tcharts -tradition/routine -
-we have started a cursive club
-Tatiana, Alessia and Eve want to start a -making poetry books- club
-Julie, Sofia Garzelli, Natalia and friends have been making garlands

-and then a little magic with tiny little balls I brought back fom London

Live conkers-student council-birthdays

Week5  Our blog is working again!

As Mr. Kneale really got in to the game we enjoyed it more and more...
a happy ending!

Uma and Min Woo with their student council notebooks.
They have gone to two meetings
AND
they have recorded their classmates' suggestions. Uma and Min Woo are very responsible in doing their job. Thank you.

Happy birthday Uma!
Bernardo suggested that Min Woo follow the Portuguese custom of biting your birthday candle-

Min Woo tried but he didn't look too happy!
