Week 11



Everyone engaged in finishing the long vowel mobiles.
Deciding how to divide the jobs -
who will measure?
who will cut?
who will write what?
shall we check?
aaaah! enjoying the pleasures of a job well done!

SUCCESS OF THE WEEK
On Thursday partners decided how to practice their weekly words.
On Friday the spelling test was a success for ALL.
Excited choruses of -YES! -GOT IT RIGHT ! puzzled by-passers
WE HELPED EACH OTHER TO LEARN- that's what it's all about......

LANGUAGE
-in groups we decided which unit related words would be most helpful to learn
-we began mapping 'what is important to me' - 'Tiny Moments' and writing from our hearts
-Ms Jackie took small groups around the school to prepare a class rubric on 'What Makes a Good Poster'
-we edited short passages using the appropriate editing marks-then the children wrote
sentences with mistakes and their partner edited them

MATH
-continued to recognize even and odd numbers in 'Today's Number' and 'How Many Pockets'
-discussed -examined and practiced best strategies for adding string of numbers
-continued working on word problems

UNIT
-ICT integrated lesson on Thanksgiving
-Beliefs rainbow-oh some wonderful ideas came out of this activity!
-took turns in retelling the Rama and Sita Story
-completed the short research on Diwali
-listened to Jasmine's mom presentation on the customs and traditions of the Islam
religion
Have a lovely week- December is right outside the door.........
